Abstract

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust currently provides a Renal Dialysis Service to patients at Peterborough Hospital.

The Trust is looking to convene a contract with a provider for either:

Lot 1 the provision of a Small Renal Dialysis Managed Service Satellite Unit which will provide extra capacity for patients in Peterborough.

Lot 2 the provision of a Large Renal Dialysis Managed Service Satellite Unit to meet the specification to meet the need of Peterborough dialysis patients off-site from the Peterborough Hospital site.

The contract will be for an initial period of 7 years with the option to extend by a further 3 years.

The Trust's requirements for this service for both Lot 1 and 2 include:

— sourcing and provision of premises from which the renal dialysis services can be provided in the future;

— provision and maintenance of dialysis equipment; provision of medicines;

— provision of an IT infrastructure; provision of facilities management services; and

— provision of non-clinical staff.

The Trust is also seeking offers for the following options which may or may not be included in the throughout the term of contract:

— provision of pathology tests;

— procurement and provision of renal dialysis consumables; and

— provision of additional IT software systems.

For the avoidance of doubt all clinical staff necessary for the operation of the renal dialysis clinics will be provided by the Trust.

Bidders may bid for one or more Lots. The Trust intends to only award one of the Lots as per the tender documentation.
