Minimum standards and qualification required
The Consultants must have:
• Knowledge, understanding of and commitment to the Social Model of Disability and its implementation.
• Awareness of the strengths, abilities and experience of Disabled People from diverse communities.
• Understanding of and be committed to all equality issues.
• Proven experience designing and producing WordPress website/blog/forums.
• A proven track record of delivering work to a high standard.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the Enabling Wales Programme subject areas
• An awareness of and experience with using the w3.org Web Accessibility guidelines (i.e. ‘Accessibility’; ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines’; ‘Accessible Rich Internet Applications’; ‘User Agent Accessibility Guidelines’; ‘Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines’; ‘Evaluation and Report Language’; ‘IndieUI’; ‘Mobile Accessibility’). • User experience testing;
• Designing for optimum user experience.
• Experience of working with voice browsers;
• Experience of optimising colour differences on pages for disabled users;
• Knowledge of creating responsive websites;
• Experience of the relevant code languages for the project such as PHP, HTML, CSS;
• Experience of altering WordPress templates or creating new WordPress templates;
• Understanding of incorporating social media applications into websites;
• Experience of design packages such as the Adobe suite;
• Understanding of wire-framing;
• Knowledge of designing for search engine optimisation;
• Experience of creating bilingual sites.
