Abstract
The design tender coincides with Visit Wales campaign to promote innovation, hospitality, landscape and the history of Wales at their best. This project is part funded by Welsh Government’s Tourism Product Innovation Fund.
Applicants are expected to design a high quality, ‘self-contained’ glamping accommodation unit and the awarded designs will be developed to form a completely unique mobile hotel. The ‘pop-up’ hotel will appear in 3 different, unique and stunning locations in Wales, including a private beach and historic sites of significance.
One of the project’s main objectives is to draw the world's attention to Wales’ wealth in terms of landscape, character and crucially, its legends as it will all take place during Visit Wales’ ‘Year of Legends’ . The settings will offer the wow factor and will represent south, mid and north Wales equally.

Exciting News - More Chances to Win and Wider Publicity
As the 'Legendary Glamping Wales' project, we have great pleasure in announcing that we have teamed up with TV production company Plum Pictures (producers of popular lifestyle programmes such as, George Clarke's Amazing Spaces, Shed of the Year amongst others), to film the construction of the finished product as part of a new television series. And the good news doesn't end there - as part of the agreement with Plum Pictures, the number of designs that will be commissioned will increase from a maximum of 3 to a maximum of 7 allowing the judges to award more of your amazing design applications.
Whilst the deadline remains the same (9am, 31st October 2016) the date for announcing the winners will need to be extended until the 21st November 2016. This is to allow the judging panel to carefully consider the increased number of winning designs and conduct due diligence on each. The rest of the Terms and Conditions remain exactly the same. Please be assured that following the announcement of the successful designs, all winning designers will be given the opportunity to take part in the filming for the series or not – if you choose not to participate, the construction of your winning design will take place regardless.
The project is part funded by the Welsh Government’s Tourism Product Innovation Fund which aims to encourage partnership working and innovative ideas which will have a greater impact and attract more visitors.

Fel prosiect 'Glampio Chwedlonol Cymru', rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi fod cwmni teledu Plum Pictures (cynhyrchwyr rhaglenni poblogaidd megis George Clarke's Amazing Spaces, Shed of the Year ymhlith eraill), wedi ymuno â'r prosiect er mwyn ffilmio'r gwaith o adeiladu'r unedau glampio fel rhan o gyfres deledu newydd. Update
Good afternoon everyone,
First of all, we would like to thank everyone for all your inspirational and hard work – the standard of designs received have been exceptional and the panel have been highly impressed. The variety and number of proposals received has also been substantial.
We are glad to announce that we have finally agreed on the shortlist and have just a few more processes to go through before we can confirm which designs will be awarded and commissioned. We hope to be in a position to make the final announcement in the next few days so we will provide another update very soon.
