Abstract

Centrica (British Gas) has recently been provided the oppurtunity to tender on the Welsh Assembly Government's National Fuel Poverty Scheme. We are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified contractors to undertake work as detailed in Lots 1 and 2. We are inviting responses from both national and regional providers who can support this installation programme across Wales.The requirement will be broken down into the following two lot areas: Lot 1: Supply of sub-contracted fuel installation services Lot 2: Supply of sub-contracted insulation installation services The measures included in each of these broad categories are listed below as follows: a) Standard improvements (compulsory) include: - draught proofing; - loft insulation and loft top ups; - hot and cold water tank and pipe insulation; and - cavity wall insulation. b) Standard improvements (customer choice) include: - room thermostats / heating controls - carbon monoxide detector for homes with gas heating systems, mains-linked smoke detector; and - advice on use of the heating system. c) Enhanced improvements to the building fabric include: - internal wall insulation; - external wall insulation; and - insulation measures for residential mobile homes. d) Enhanced improvements to heating systems include: - boiler only replacements; - gas central heating systems; - electric storage central heating systems; - oil central heating systems (where replacing an existing oil system only); - solid fuel central heating systems (where replacing an existing solid fuel system only); - electric wet heating systems (where replacing an existing electric wet system only); - liquefied petroleum gas systems (where replacing an existing liquefied petroleum gas system only)
