Abstract

The purpose of the testing is to determine the hydrodynamic loads that the demonstration wave energy device will experience from exposure to extreme waves and currents at a defined location. The contractor will be required to: 1. Design the testing activities and test model required to achieve the test objectives. Specify all components required for testing. 2. Support the procurement of all components/equipment 3. Set up the test facility, including mounting test rig and all instrumentation 4. Manage and troubleshoot testing to ensure test objectives are achieved 5. Provide a report detailing the results of the testing

Description of the goods or services required

The purpose of the testing is to determine the hydrodynamic loads that the demonstration wave energy device will experience from exposure to extreme waves and currents at a defined location.

The contractor will be required to:

1. Design the testing activities and test model required to achieve the test objectives. Specify all components required for testing.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The bidder must be able to demonstrate competence in the area of extreme wave testing for marine energy devices. The bidder should hold professional indemnity or product liability insurance, or similar, of at least £ 0.5 million.

Bidders will be required to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement prior to the issue of tender documents
