Abstract

The Trust’s requirement is to increase the airflow through the delivery suites and delivery theatre.

To each of the seven delivery suites, work shall include the installation of:

— a heat retention unit,

— a supply cassette,

— and 2 extract grilles – one of which is in the ceiling grid, and the other at a low level in boxing. Ductwork, chiller plant and pipework are also to be installed, in the ceiling void above the delivery suites and the corridor throughout the ward. All is to be commissioned.

For the delivery theatre, the AHU is to be decommissioned and thoroughly refurbished, then re-commissioned, and some ductwork and extract/supply grilles are to be installed to the ceiling grid in the theatre and surrounding rooms. The mechanical contractor shall take on the role of principal contractor with all associated responsibilities, including appointment of building contractor and electrical contractor to undertake all associated works as described in the attached drawings and specific.
