Abstract

TfW requires a competent contractor to undertake Ground Investigation works at Deeside to assist with preliminary works associated with potential development of a new station (Deeside Parkway) providing a rail link into the heart of Deeside Industrial Park. Works will include determination of ground characteristics in a number of locations for potential platforms, structures, underbridge/underpass and parking facilities using a range of tests (including but not limited to CBR, strength, chemical contamination) results of which will need to be presented within a GI Factual Report. A Geotechnical Interpretive report will also be required.

Description of the goods or services required

TfW requires a competent contractor to undertake Ground Investigation works at Deeside to assist with preliminary works associated with potential development of a new station (Deeside Parkway) providing a rail link into the heart of Deeside Industrial Park. Works will include determination of ground characteristics in a number of locations for potential platforms, structures, underbridge/underpass and parking facilities using a range of tests (including but not limited to CBR, strength, chemical contamination) results of which will need to be presented within a GI Factual Report. A Geotechnical Interpretive report will also be required.

The purpose of this tender is to identify and appoint a competent contractor with sound experience of safely undertaking Ground Investigation works within the railway corridor.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Tenderers must be able to provide a copy of their Safety Policy Statement.

Tenderers must be registered with a Health and Safety registration scheme such as CHAS, CHAS equivalent or another external body.

Tenderers must be able to provide confirmation of their Network Rail Approved Contractor Status.
