II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Oral surgery is the speciality which predominantly deals with removal of teeth and surgery to their supporting structures within the jaws. The requirement for NHS England to commission oral surgery services is based on the guidance provided by the latest commissioning guide from NHS England.
Estimation of the need for oral surgical services is complex. Need in the population for oral surgery services is currently based upon the proportion of the population that present for operative treatment in this area. Service activity data is currently the most common measure.
Annual unit of dental activity for this procurement is 4416 with an annual contract value of 238 528 GBP and a total 5 year contract value of 1 192 640 GBP.

The Commissioner will act in accordance with Part 3 Chapter 5 Regulation 85 to 87 and Part 3 Chapter 6 Regulation 88 to 104 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No 102) (PCR 2015).
