Medway Council is concluding the procurement of a suitably experienced and qualified contractor to provide supplementary enforcement services to tackle environmental issues such as littering, dog fouling and the enforcement of dog control orders (now PSPOs) with respect to dogs on leads.
The aim of the service will be to reduce litter and dog fouling within the borough by demonstrating that irresponsible behaviour will be tackled by way of enforcement action, mainly by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN’s) to offenders. Robust enforcement combined with effective promotional campaigns will ‘nudge’ people into doing the right thing, and create a place to be proud of.
