Abstract

Subject experts are required for the monitoring of new Health and Social Care, and Childcare qualifications being delivered by City & Guilds and WJEC. The work for the monitoring of Health and Social Care, and Childcare qualifications will entail the subject experts observing meetings held by WJEC or City & Guilds. The subject experts will complete a report on each meeting observed. Each subject expert report will describe the activities undertaken during each meeting, the discussions held between the attendees and the level of their agreement on the outcomes of the meeting. Each report will also describe the extent to which the awarding body’s processes have been followed and will provide judgements on whether there were any issues with the way the meeting has been conducted, either in relation to the awarding body’s stated processes, or in relation to Qualifications Wales’ regulatory requirements as described in the Standard Conditions of Recognition. The subject expert will also be expected to give their view, as an expert in the Health and Social Care or Childcare sectors, on whether suitable subject expertise has been used during the meeting to ensure that the assessment tasks and judgements made during the marking of those tasks accurately reflect current practice.
