Total quantity or scope of tender
The Consultant will be required to undertake the following activities:
1. Desk review of guidance and best practice
a. Identify and review examples of existing guidance e.g. QAA that is relevant and/ or previously prepared e.g. by ACCAC.
b. Identify and review examples of current practice in awarding bodies or other relevant organisations to feed into our guidance.
2. Engage with awarding bodies to ensure that the guidance meets their needs
a. This will include using the AB Welsh Language Support Group which is already established and can be used for this purpose (and can meet on-line).
b. The Consultant may also undertake other engagement/data collection/ research to ensure that the guidance meets the needs of awarding bodies.
3. Engage with subject experts and other relevant organisations working in this area (such as providers) to ensure that the guidance reflects good practice while offering a good balance between being both forward looking and practical.
a. Identify and gather views from key experts in the field. This will include leading meetings with the Welsh-medium guidance subject expert panel around 2-3 times via on-line meetings in autumn to spring 2020-21. The Consultant will lead discussions in this group with Qualifications Wales providing the secretariat support. This group will be presented with drafts of the guidance and the Consultant will use these discussions on drafts to inform future drafts and activities, incorporating their feedback and advice.
b. The Consultant may also identify other experts/ organisations and we would welcome ideas from them in their methodology section of their Bid.
4. Seek and take on board feedback received on drafts and incorporate them into the final version submitted by the deadline.
5. Work closely with us throughout the life of the project to ensure that the guidance is fit for purpose and meets our needs.
