Stevenage Borough Council are currently seeking tenders for the provision of architectural services. The Council wishes to develop the site at Redcar Drive and is seeking a detailed planning application to convert the site into a cohesive and more legible estate arrangement that is fit for the 21st Century recognising the need for more high quality housing, development that is both environmentally sustainable and delivered at pace. Delivers a target of at least 110 new homes or identifies why this is either not possible or preferable and Incorporates modern methods of construction (MMC) and an accelerated delivery. II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Council wishes to develop the redcar drive site and is seeking a detailed planning application to covert the site into dense residential use. It is proposed that all existing structures on the site would be demolished. The planning application should maximise the site footprint to provide circa 110 new homes; a mix of 1 and 2 bed flats and 2 and 3 bed houses. There is also a requirement for a proportion of the site to be delivered using MMC techniques. The scheme has funding from central government attached to it and so will need to be delivered at pace.
