Abstract

This project aims to demonstrate a longterm sustainable, realistic and practical solution to biodiversity decline on Welsh farms alongside profitable food production. In particular the project will focus on increasing numbers of farmland birds. The project will explore whether the combined provision of supplementary feeding stations and specialised cover crops can reverse the decline of farmland birds. This invitation to tender is to appoint a person or organisation to undertake elements of the project according to the protocol that is already established. The project is seeking expertise in the following areas; surveys of breeding birds, winter birds and summer pollinators at relevant timepoints during the project, farm visits to advise and support the farmers, training in wildlife monitoring for the farmers, written reports on the progress and outcomes of the project.
