Abstract

CTMUHB requires to commission a Social Marketing Campaign to encourage Healthy Living for Families with a public relations and communications provider to create evidenced based, innovative and original 2.2 content to support parents, carers and children (families) to live healthier, happier and more active lives and to improve their all-round wellbeing. This will contribute to the overall aim of reducing childhood obesity in 0-5 year olds in Cwm Taf Morgannwg (as measured in the Child Measurement Programme). Childhood obesity is driven by environmental, societal and individual factors. The scale of the problem and its relationship to a number of diseases is well documented, and obesity is a leading cause of ill health in Cwm Taf Morgannwg and Wales. The successful applicant will promote physical activity and play messages alongside healthy eating content detailing the wide benefits to family living, physical and mental health. The proposed social marketing campaign should provide local information about the healthy options available to people in an attempt to drive positive and healthy behaviour changes (e.g. being more active, eating a healthy diet etc).
