Abstract

The Council’s Department of Place, Economy and Development Services is seeking to procure providers to deliver a place-based entrepreneurial support programme in specific localities, to address gaps in enterprise and business support in the district.

The programme will contribute to priorities within the Bradford District Economic Recovery Plan and will be delivered in community settings across the district.

The programme is intended to support the recovery and beyond following the Covid-19 pandemic. The ambition is to increase self-employment and help to create sustainable jobs and growth in communities across the district. It is part of a wider package of support that will be made available through both internal investment and WYCA resources.

This contract is for the provision of Enterprise Coaches, based on the previous LEGI-funded coaching model. The coaches will provide:

• One to one entrepreneurial support in selected communities.

• Entrepreneurial support for pre-start-ups and start-ups that meets gaps in existing provision.

• Self-employment support.

• Non-sector specific support for a wide range of start-up businesses including those that may not be described as high growth potential.

• Non-demographic specific support – i.e. universal support provision
