Abstract

Bracknell Forest Council is currently developing new supported living accommodation for adults with care and support needs, known as Bridgewell, located in Birch Hill, Bracknell Forest, RG12

7HA.

The service is expected to commence in June 2025. The property provides purpose-built accommodation across 2 floors, offering accommodation for up to 20 people. The accommodation consists of four distinct, self-contained 5-bedroom apartments. The property is set out as a single two story building. Access to the upper floor will be by two sets of stairs and two lifts.

Each apartment will operate as a distinct household and is accessed by its own front door, via a central lobby. Each apartment has 5 bedrooms with an ensuite accessible shower room and WC , a communal lounge, dining and kitchen area. 1 of the 5 bedrooms in each apartment has a kitchenette to support further independence. In addition, each apartment has an additional fully accessible shared bathroom with bath and a staff bedroom to accommodate staff sleep-in as required

Apartments on the ground floor have direct access to a private outside area and communal gardens. All apartments have access to the communal gardens on the ground floor and the roof garden.

The design and location of the accommodation will enable people to benefit from living in a small, personalised setting, whilst providing the opportunity to socialise with other people both within Bridgewell and the wider community as they choose.
