Hyppo Hydrogen Solutions Ltd invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a hydrogen storage system with a minimum storage capacity of 100 kg at Bay Studios, Swansea.

The tank will be used for green hydrogen storage to support local energy systems, hydrogen mobility, and R&D activities. The solution must be fully compliant with UK and EU pressure vessel and hydrogen safety standards, and integrated with on-site hydrogen production (175 kW electrolyser) and dispensing infrastructure.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The works will include but are not limited to:

• System Specification

o Minimum storage capacity: 100 kg hydrogen (at 30 bar or above).

o Above-ground storage (modular/composite or steel vessels).

o Rated to appropriate operating pressures.

o Pressure relief, safety valves, and gas detection integration.

o Fully certified to PED, ISO 19880, ISO 11114, ASME, or equivalent UK/EU standards.

o Design life: minimum 15 years.

• Installation & Commissioning

o Delivery and installation on prepared slab at Bay Studios site.

o Full connection to electrolyser and dispensing units.

o Commissioning, leak testing, and safety verification.

o Integration with site safety systems (fire detection, H2 sensors, emergency shut-off).

• Operational Requirements

o Remote monitoring capability (pressure, temperature, gas level).

o Compatible with high-pressure hydrogen compression and decanting.

o Flexibility to integrate into future hydrogen pipeline network.

• Documentation & Warranties

o Minimum 5-year warranty on tank and valves.

o Operations and Maintenance manual.

o Training for Hyppo staff.

o All CE/UKCA certification supplied.

3 Conditions for Participation

Minimum standards and qualification required

• The successful supplier will be appointed under NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contract (ECSC).

• All works must comply with CDM Regulations 2015, UK hydrogen safety codes, and manufacturer standards.

• Budget is capped at approximately £75,000 offers over the threshold will be considered
