Abstract

Project: Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn have been awarded NRW funding to undertake works to help restore an area of degrading peatland habitat at Penhesgyn recycling centre close to Menai Bridge. The works involve the installation of sheet piling to hold back groundwater, the opening of previous waterways within fenland habitat using an excavator, creation of collection pools and lining and the construction of a headwall to control water levels within the fen. We would welcome contact from interested parties to discuss the appropriate methods, constraints, and practicalities to meet our constructions aims in particular, the practicalities of undertaking these works before the end of February 2026 considering likely ground condition
