We are committed to support and enhance our residents’ abilities and resilience to live in their own homes, for as long as possible, as independently as possible. Under the Care Act 2014, the local authority must provide or arrange for the provision of services that promote wellbeing, contribute towards preventing, delaying or reducing the needs for care and support in individuals and meet the needs for care and support of adults who meet the eligibility criteria set out in the Care Act 2014.
One of the most important service areas that the local authority commissions to meet these Care Act 2014 responsibilities is domiciliary care, or homecare, as we call it locally.
