Amey - Planned and Reactive Maintenance of the CVL HV Power Systems

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

The contract requires a suitably competent contractor to provide planned, cyclical and reactive inspection, maintenance, repair and renewal services for the CVL traction and non-traction high voltage power systems, including associated feeder stations, switching stations, 25kV assets, 11kV non-traction supplies, auxiliary transformers, protection systems, cables and related infrastructure. The contractor must deliver the service in accordance with Network Rail standards and the Employer’s specifications, provide competent staff for access planning, isolations and technical support, maintain a 24/7 emergency fault response capability, meet defined response times and KPIs, complete all inspection/test records and defect reports, and support both routine maintenance and separately instructed project works as required.

• Tonteg Feeder Station with connection to National Grid Upper Boat 275kV sub-station

• Ninian Park Feeder Station with connection to Network Rail Canton ATFS

• Abercynon Track Switching Station

• Pontypridd Track switching Station

• Radyr Mid-Point Track Switching Station

• Taffs Well Track Switching Station

• Queen Street Mid-Point Track Switching Station

• Four 25kV/400V Ground Mounted Signalling Power Auxiliary Supply Transformers located at Pontypridd, Abercynon, Llandaff and Heath PSP’s

• 11kV non-traction supply network from Ffordd Bleddyn Substation to the CVL Integrated Control Centre and Walnut Tree Depot in Taffs Well.

• 25kV Cables (please refer to Appendix B)

• Structure Mounted Motorised Outdoor Switchgear

Minimum standards and qualification required

The successful subcontractor will require verified ConstructionLine Gold and RISQS memberships, with works-specific RISQS RICCL coding in place (see codes required in Part 1 Instructions for Tenderers).
