The contract for the Provision of a Domestic Pest Control Service to Bridgend County Borough Council (Bridgend CBC) has been awarded.
The control of Pests of a Public Health significance is a primary role of the Public Protection Department. Controlling and eradicating pests reduces the likelihood of infectious disease in the community and contributes to the health and well-being of residents and visitors to the County Borough of Bridgend.
As a part of its statutory duty to endeavour to keep its district free from rats and mice, and to minimise any Public Health nuisance or risks associated with Domestic Pests, the Council wishes to provide a service for the control of certain pests in domestic property throughout the Borough.

The estimated contract spend was based on the historic activity under the current contract (Expires 30/04/17) and was therefore not a guarantee of any future spend.
The future contract spend is also an estimate based on the historical number of occurrences from the current contract (Expires 30/04/17)we may have over the new contract period which commences on 01/05/17. It was a figure generated under the Pricing Schedule for evaluation purposes, where the rates returned provided a total cost (For evaluation purposes) and more importantly, to identify a Schedule of Rates for use during the course of the new contract. The contract spend published in this document is therefore not a guarantee of any future spend as it is wholly dependent upon future demand.
