The contract is for the collection and matching of pupil level data on public examination entries and achievements in Wales in all approved qualifications (e,g, GCSE, A level, vocational equivalents) and at all recognised examination centres (e.g. schools, FE colleges).

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The main services the contractor will be expected to provide are:
(a) collect data on exam entries and results from around 15-20 awarding organisations (but the number may vary annually) e.g. WJEC, EDEXCEL, OCR and AQA.
(b) collect data from each school in respect of the awarding organisations used and types of examination taken.
(c) match data at pupil level across different awarding organisations, different establishments and across time (in the cases where some examinations have been taken earlier than normal).
(d) provide the Client with the examination data in a pre-defined XML format and according to an agreed timetable.
(e) provide a bilingual (Welsh and English) on line and telephone help desk function.. The help desk will field enquiries from schools and colleges.
(f) Provide a secure on line data transfer system with individual accounts for all schools, colleges and awarding organisations (300-400 users). This system will allow awarding organisations to provide data and schools / colleges to raise queries and upload documents or evidence where they do not agree with the official figures during the checking periods.
(g) The contractor must be able to satisfy the requirements of the Security Aspects Letter.
