Aneurin Bevan University Health Board intends to undertake a short term restricted interim Managed Laboratory Services Contract.
This contract extension will ensure business continuity for the Pathology Service within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board whilst a new procurement exercise is undertaken to award a new contract for the provision of Pathology Managed Laboratory Services, to be based at the Specialist and Critical Care Centre (SCCC) Grange University Hospital at Llanfrechfa (which is due to be completed in 2021).
The duration of the contract extension will be 24 months with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months. Prior to this contract ending the HB intend to run a competitive tender process to provide a modern Pathology service at the new grange hospital (Due to open April 2021).

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is notifying the market of its intention to undertake an interim restricted tender process for a Pathology managed laboratory service contract, whilst the HB runs a fully competitive tender exercise for the Pathology services at the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre (SCCC) Grange hospital (Due to be completed in Apr 2021).
This interim contract is to ensure business continuity for the Pathology Service within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board up to the point where a further procurement exercise is undertaken & awarded for the provision of Pathology Managed Laboratory Services, to be based at the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre (SCCC) Grange University Hospital at Llanfrechfa (which is due to be completed in 2021).
