II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Led by the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, Cadw is inviting bids for the installation of two major visual landmarks, inspired by Welsh legends, to be constructed and installed in the Year of Legends through a ‘design and build’ competition.
The artworks will be inspired by our greatest legends, will be innovative and imaginative and bring Wales’s heritage to life; they will catch people’s imaginations and inspire them to visit Wales and explore its incredible historic sites.

IV.1) Description
IV.1.2) Type of contest

IV.1.9) Criteria for the evaluation of projects:
Selection criteria - Stage 1
1. Demonstrate experience and capability - 40 percent.
2. Demonstrate use of appropriate materials - 40 percent.
3. Demonstrate ability to create artworks suitable for a unsupervised public space - 20 percent.
The eight highest scoring bidders will advance to Stage 2. In the event of a tie, bidders scoring equally will advance to Stage 2.
Award criteria - Stage 2
1. Appropriateness / suitability for the environs of the selected heritage site - 30 percent.
2. A clear demonstration as to how the artwork celebrates the legends of Wales - 50 percent.
3. A description as to how the artwork will be created within budget and within timescales - 20 percent.
