Abstract

Conwy County Borough Council wish to appoint a suitably qualified supplier to develop and implement an effective Winter Tourism marketing campaign that drives commercial benefits to the tourism sector in the whole of Conwy County. Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council wish to appoint a suitably qualified supplier to develop and implement an effective Winter Tourism marketing campaign that drives commercial benefits to the tourism sector in the whole of Conwy County. There are two phases to the campaign. Phase 1 will run from December 2023 to February 2024 and phase 2 will run from September to December 2024.

Key tasks for the successful supplier to include:

- Define Conwy’s winter visitor offer and create a bilingual strapline that can be used across all media and that can also inspire tourism sector businesses to use it in their promotional activity

- The production of a project schedule, provision of progress reports and arranging contact meetings, with the CCBC tourism team to ensure the implementation of the campaigns meet the agreed deadlines and outputs

- Work closely with Conwy’s tourism team

- Commission and manage a minimum of 2 x 2-week radio campaigns, one in January 2024 and one in October 2024 to promote the winter tourism offer, (stations and target audience to be agreed by CCBC)

- Plan the design and outline content of the two bilingual podcasts in conjunction with the CCBC tourism team. Source a bilingual presenter, manage and arrange the associated interviewees and itineraries

- Source and commission a minimum of two press/travel influencers with high audience numbers in our target markets and develop itineraries and arrange overnight trips to the area.

- Develop and manage a social media campaign specifically designed to meet the outputs of the project utilising a mix of Google Ads, and social media posting and advertising

- Production of content to encourage industry and stakeholders to share news stories, information and events that can be fed into the social media campaign

- Encourage accommodation providers to participate by offering complimentary accommodation for influencer/press visits and competitions (needs to be offered to all providers to comply with

state aid).

- Ability to provide press releases in English and Welsh, the cost of which to be included in the overall fee.

- An understanding of the Creu Conwy Culture Strategy to produce fun and engaging content encourage visitors to interact with the county’s heritage and culture.

This Winter Tourism marketing project is commissioned by CCBC via the Shared Prosperity Fund North Wales which is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
