As part of its 2016 governance strategy, the Linc board has resolved to carry out an appraisal of its own performance, an appraisal of individual board members and an appraisal of the board chair.

The Appraisal will look to determine the following:
How well the board performs its role;
The effectiveness of board relationships and how it operates as a team;
The effectiveness of the governance structure;
How the board is viewed by key stakeholders, e.g. regulators,
funders, local authorities, tenant groups, staff etc.;
The composition of the board and the skills, competencies and contribution of its individual members;
Whether the board provides enough support, scrutiny and challenge to the senior management team and may be externally or internally led.

Minimum standards and qualification required
The board wishes to seek fully costed proposals from consultants with experience and a track record of undertaking this type of work.

Additional Information
The deadline for receipt of proposals is 30th April 2016. The chosen consultant will be appointed by 20th May and will be invited to attend the May Board Meeting (Thursday 26th May) to discuss their proposals which will help define the final brief and approach.
The consultants final report will be included on the July Board agenda.
