Introduction

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, in partnership with Welsh Government is further developing the Eco Park at the Bryn Pica Waste Management Facility, Aberdare, South East Wales. The proposal demonstrates Welsh Government’s commitment to decentralised Renewable Energy and Closed Loop Recycling and One Planet living.

This project will take heat and power from a newly constructed Anaerobic Digestion plant to supply a range of reprocessing customers which are set to locate on the immediately adjacent, but yet to be constructed, Eco Business Park. The planning application for the main Eco Park is being submitted in March 2018, and reference is made to the heat and power infrastructure.

The scope of this Invitation to Tender (ITT) is the undertaking of all work that is required to secure approval to proceed with the development of a heat and power network, and the issuing of a detailed design specification.
