Description of the goods or services required
SPECIFIC (Sustainable Product Engineering Centre for Innovative Functional Industrial Coatings) is a national innovation centre funded by Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO), Innovate UK and EPSRC working in collaboration with industry and academic partners, with the vision to develop a new industry based on buildings that generate, store and release their own energy, both heat and electricity.
Funding has been made available through the WEFO using European Structural Funds to support the commercialisation activity of buildings as power stations concepts. This work package requires the supply and installation of solar thermal capture technologies on a self-supporting, ground mounted, bespoke constructed mounting frame to suit the required installed capacity.
The installation location on the SPECIFIC SHED provides safe access to the rear of the panels only – suppliers should be aware that this is not a roof mounting installation but will be onto a bespoke steel platform structure, the front of which is, access-controlled using a cherry picker or suitable MEWP, or by scaffolding. All relevant costs for the provision of the suppliers preferred installation equipment must be included within their tender submission.
