Description of the goods or services required
The motion capture system will be operated and used by Cardiff University in the context of the IROHMS Research Centre for its Human-Robot Interaction Lab. The system is required to extend research capacity in Human-robot and Human-Machine Interactions, by providing an accurate perception of environment in real time. It must be capable of tracking the 3D locations of multiple humans, objects and the items located in the interaction environment, simultaneously.
The intended use of the system is to establish a proper closed-loop human-robot interaction by tracking the human daily activities such as walking, waving hands, carrying a cup of tea etc., and tracking a range of human body gestures/postures used in interacting with social/industrial robots in the lab. This system must also be capable of modelling different motion trajectories of any moving object such as a mobile robot, the end point of an industrial robotic arm and any flying object in the lab environment.
