Flying Start Sessional Care in Cyfarthfa Ward of Merthyr Tydfil

Description of the goods or services required

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC) is seeking to commission an organisation to offer the funded childcare element of the Flying Start programme in the Cyfarthfa Ward. The current organisation has given notice to withdraw from delivery from 1 May 2022, which has led to the Local Authority seeking a new organisation to take on this exciting opportunity.

The childcare provision will operate from a modular building at Nation Changers Church Site in Heolgerrig, Merthyr Tydfil. The modular building is a purpose designed childcare facility owned by MTCBC and has been located in the current location since 2015.

The current provider is registered with Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) for 19 children under the age of 12 and sessions run 9.30-12pm and 12.30-3pm.

Whilst we are seeking an organisation to specifically, deliver Flying Start childcare provision, we encourage interested organisations to consider the wider childcare needs of the local communities including wrap around care, after school/ holiday care and childcare for non-Flying Start children.

Ability to demonstrate via a written bid experience in delivering similar services as outlined in the RFQ document.
