Cyflwyniad a Chyd-Destun Mae Partneriaeth Awyr Dywyll Gogledd Cymru (Prosiect Nos) wedi bod yn gweithio ar raglen sylweddol i addysgu cymunedau am lygredd golau ac wedi llwyddo i gwblhau sawl prosiect ôl-osod yng Ngogledd Cymru. Gan ategu at lwyddiant hyn a natur problem llygredd golau, mae’r 8 tirwedd a ddiogelir yng Nghymru (Parciau Cenedlaethol Eryri, Bannau Brycheiniog a Sir Benfro ac Ardaloedd o Harddwch Naturiol Eithriadol Ynys Môn, Pen Llŷn, Gŵyr, Gwy a Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy) wedi derbyn cyllid ar gyfer prosiect ‘Cymru Gyfan’ i geisio lleihau llygredd golau yn yr ardaloedd hyn a lleihau / diddymu’r effeithiau negyddol ar gyfer bioamrywiaeth, hinsawdd, iechyd cyhoeddus ac i ddiogelu’r Awyr Dywyll. Mae Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri a Bannau Brycheiniog yn Warchodfeydd Awyr Dywyll, gyda phob un o’r ardaloedd eraill yn dymuno derbyn dynodiad Awyr Dywyll yn y dyfodol agos. Introduction and Context The North Wales Dark Skies partnership (Prosiect Nos) has been working on a substantial programme to educate communities on light pollution and has successfully been completing a number of retrofitting projects in north Wales. Building on the success of this and the nature of the issue of light pollution, the Designated Landscapes family of all 8 Welsh protected landscapes (Eryri, Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire Coast National Parks and the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty of Ynys Môn, Pen Llŷn, Gŵyr, Wye and Clwydian Range Dee Valley) have secured funding for an ‘All Wales’ project aiming to reduce light pollution in these areas and to lessen/remove the negative impacts for biodiversity, climate, public health and for the protection of Dark Skies. The two National Parks Eryri and Brecon are Dark Sky Reserves, with each of the other areas also holding ambitions to become Dark Sky designated in the near future. This tender specification is for phase 1 & 2 of associated works. Phase 2 will be commissioned on the successful completion of phase 1. Aims of the Project We are looking to procure the services of a specialist lighting engineer/design company to work with us to deliver an ambitious light retrofitting project in all 8 areas.
