Abstract

WEA YMCA Community College Cymru (interim name) is an adult education provider and registered charity, and came into being on 1 August 2015 on by the merger of WEA Cymru and YMCA Community College. It owns the campus of Coleg Harlech, in Harlech, Gwynedd, which was formerly a residential college, and includes Wern Fawr, a Grade II* listed building. The campus is still in use by WEA YMCA Community College Cymru, but is not fully used, and no longer has residential accommodation. The purpose of this tender process is to produce a feasibility study and business plan for each of three parts outlined below: a) for the development of residential provision in Wern Fawr; b) for wet weather facilities for tourists, using the rest of the site at Coleg Harlech; c) the implications of the first two parts for governance structures and community involvement, including social enterprise.
