Provision of External Evaluation Services to the STEM Cymru 2 Project

Description of the goods or services required

The project will be appointing a single service provider to undertake the External Evaluation Services to provide Evaluation & Recommendations which can be used to support a possible extension of the STEM Cymru 2 operation post June 2018 when it is currently due to end.

The Tenderers will be expected to have had a background in the evaluation of similar projects to STEM Cymru 2 and/or educational based STEM schemes, as well as experience of evaluating European funded projects.

An External Evaluation is an important part of the overall delivery of the STEM Cymru 2 operation and is necessary to comply with the evaluation requirements of the WEFO funding. We will be seeking suitable bidders who can deliver best value based upon quality as well as cost.

EESW requires an external evaluator to assess the success of the STEM Cymru 2 operation in meeting its key objectives of increasing participation in STEM activities and its progress against its targets as a European funded operation. The key objectives of the STEM Cymru 2 operation are set out below, as well as the specific requirements of the evaluation:

• Increase the number of young people participating in STEM activities and training with a particular focus on increasing the participation of young women.

• Increase the take up of STEM subjects at FE and HE / apprenticeships

• Increase the attainment in STEM subjects.
