Abstract

Bridgend County Borough Council is looking to appoint a consultant/partnership or consortium with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to deliver a feasibility study for the Upper Llynfi Valley Geo-thermal Heat Network Project. The study will include a geo-technical survey of ground conditions to assess suitability of the study area and a full assessment of the most appropriate heat generation and distribution system for the project. In addition the appointed organisation/s will be expected to undertake a full financial assessment of the scheme to understand all costs and revenues associated with the scheme and assess likely rates of return, compile a comprehensive risk analysis for the project and consider appropriate delivery structures and business models for the scheme. The feasibility study will also need to assess a sample of representative housing for the area to assess its suitability for connection to a heat network and develop an innovative engagement strategy for hard to reach communities.
