Review of the childcare sector in wales

Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Government has a keen interest in the childcare sector and how it is performing, its contribution

to the Welsh economy, the cost base for businesses, and the prices for the services offered. WG is

developing a10 year workforce plan which will include the childcare sector. In this respect, it is keen to

understand the impact of meeting the quality requirements on the sector set by the Care Council

for Wales and any difficulties experienced in maintaining its workforce. The Welsh Government’s

upcoming involvement in providing an entitlement for childcare means it is important that the sector is

fully understood; areas of shortfall need to be identified before they can be expected to provide additional

hours to parents.

The purpose of this tender is to invite interested parties to bid to undertake a research project as specified in the invitation to tender document in the attachment section .

A budget of £60,000 - £65,000 (excluding VAT) will be made available by the Client for the purposes of this contract. However, tenderers should be aware that this budget information is for indicative purposes only and that the Client will be seeking to award the contract on the basis of the award criteria stated in the specification.

- The first person from your Organisation to use the Platform will be required to register on behalf of the Organisation.
