Colwyn Bay Waterfront Project - Supply of 'Postcard' Feature Paving

Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council is procuring the manufacture and supply of up to 19 feature 'postcard' paving units to be delivered to site in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Phase 2 of the Colwyn Bay Waterfront Project is currently underway and these units are to be delivered to site for installation by the Principal Contractor.

Each design is unique and portrays a postcard style paving unit depicting a noteworthy element of the Towns history. The units are to be produced using materials specified within the tender documents to the achieve the detail required of the designs. Further details are contained within the tender documents.

Total quantity or scope of tender

There are a total of 19 units within the contract. These have been split into two lots titled Area A and Area B. Area A contains 7 large units, Area B contains 9 small units and 3 large units.

The Area's refer to the units intended location on site.

CCBC reserve the right to either commission only Area A, only Area B or both lots. This will be dictated to by the prices returned during the tender process.

3 Conditions for Participation

Minimum standards and qualification required

This is an Open procurement process, with stage 1 and stage 2 being carried out concurrently. Stage 1 is a pass / fail assessment of the potential providers resources to assess if they have the capability to undertake the work. If any elements of the stage 1 questionnaire are deemed a fail the tender will not be considered further.

Stage 2 is also a pass / fail assessment of the methodology to be used based on the specification.

The contract will be awarded to the tenderer who is ranked number (1) one based on price, who has passed all stage 1 and stage 2 criterion.
