Abstract

MHA Limited, through a competitive tender wishes to appoint an experienced, competent and qualified principal contractor to carry out the following works to 6 no. blocks of flats (5 x 12 no. flats, 1 x 10 no. flats = 70 no. in total). Scaffolding, roofing including chimneys and loft insulation, fascia, soffits and rainwater goods, External Wall Insulation works, Brick Slips, removal of existing cavity insulation, minor concrete repairs and remedial wall tie works, balcony railings and waterproofing, new entrance canopy works and resident liaison. Location Caldicot Monmouthshire - works to be completed by End March 2017.

MHA Limited, through a competitive tender wishes to appoint an experienced, competent and qualified principal contractor to carry out the following works to 6 no. blocks of flats (5 x 12 no. flats, 1 x 10 no. flats = 70 no. in total).

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

MHA have an absolute commitment to providing employment and training opportunities to the people of Monmouthshire. It is imperative that we support the economic needs of the communities around which our business is built. We will maximise spend within local communities and increase local business capacity through this project as a part of sustaining our business. In addition, we will provide educational, training and work placement opportunities for unemployed people/tenants which will develop their work related and employability skills.

MHA as part of our commitment to supporting the local community have incorporated the following terms and conditions within all of our contracts:

“Each successful contractor is to note that by entering into the contract for ‘the works’ as outlined within this document they are agreeing to entering into providing these opportunities, whilst recording the sustained employment positions within the business to deliver this contract”.

Allowance for window replacement within costs and programme.
To all bidders:
Further to a number of enquiries with regards to providing a programme for the works we wish to clarify the following point.
Whilst the replacement window element is outside of this tender we require you to include within your costs an additional 2 weeks scaffold hire per block for the fitting of new windows by our named contractor. We also require you to indicate on your programme the 2 week duration for window replacement per block.
We trust that this makes sense.
