Abstract

The National Reading and Numeracy Tests are currently paper-based tests for all learners in years 2-9 in maintained schools in Wales. The tests are delivered and administered in schools annually (at the end of April/beginning of May). From the 2018-19 academic year, there will be a phased introduction of online adaptive tests, beginning with the Numeracy (Procedural) tests. The Welsh Government, on behalf of the Welsh Ministers (hereinafter referred to as the “Client”) wishes to invite interested organisations to submit proposals to support the delivery of the testing agenda by providing a supported marking service for key stage 3 in secondary schools, i.e. Years 7, 8 and 9 for the 2018 and 2019 testing rounds. This will support approximately 210 schools marking papers for 95,000 pupils. The service will support schools to apply the appropriate methods for marking Numerical Reasoning test papers.
