Refurbishment of Fairwater Day Centre

Description of the goods or services required

A refurbishment & improvement project forming part of the Council’s ‘Day Opportunities Strategy’ to ensure the ongoing improvement in delivery of Citizen Services. The primary intention is improving safe accessibility and enhancing user experience with a particular emphasis on dementia friendly design. Work to the existing single store facility includes relocating the main entrance incorporating bold coloured render for improved visitor safety and to aid way finding and visual orientation. Alterations also include the reconfiguration of space for more appropriately and well-placed WC facilities and the provision of internal and external safe spaces. The introduction of glazed screens and memory corners as well as internal colour coding are planned to enhance overall wayfinding and visual orientation. Improved lighting together with a full package of mechanical and electrical enhancements also form part of the overall scheme.
