Abstract

The main objective of the SEACAMS2 (Sustainable Expansion of the Applied Coastal and Marine Sectors) project is to assist the development of opportunities in Low carbon, Energy and Environment in the convergence regions of Wales, and is an investment in the potential offered by the marine economy and marine renewable energy. The SEACAMS2 project at Swansea University is developing a joint research project with the Unlocking the Severn partnership, a group including the Environment Agency, Canal and Rivers Trust, Severn Rivers Trust and Natural England to survey fish populations in the Bristol Channel. A fieldwork campaign to assist in methodological development by tagging fish in the river Severn has already been undertaken by the partnership using Vemco v9 tags, and the SEACAMS2 project now requires up to twenty Vemco VR2W receivers and up to twenty Vemco VR2TX receivers to support their research project.
