Tai Tarian, Kitchen & Bathroom Mop Up Programme

Description of the goods or services required

Tai Tarian is seeking to engage a single contractor with a proven track record of delivering best practice on similar contracts. The appointed Contractor will need to work pro-actively with Tai Tarian to assist in delivering its social environment agenda within the community in which they will operate.

Tai Tarian is seeking to appoint a single contractor to undertake the replacement of approximately 50 kitchens and approximately 50 bathrooms across approximately 70 properties, located throughout the Neath Port Talbot County Borough.

The contract will be undertaken using the JCT Intermediate 2016.

The works programme will comprise of the installation of the replacement kitchen and bathrooms together with all associated electrical, plumbing, decoration and refurbishment, as necessary. Work is to be carried out in accordance with the attached specification. The first allocation of 50 kitchen and 50 bathrooms will require completion by March 31st 2020, with an option to extend for a further 1 year.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

Tai Tarian is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community. Consequently Community Benefits clauses will be considered as part of the proposed procurement as Core to address socio-economic and/or environmental issues.

The ‘Core’ approach means that Community Benefits are being ‘bought’ as part of the subject matter of the contract i.e. will be evaluated as part of the tender process.

This means, as part of their tender response, potential contractors will be asked how they will deliver ‘community benefits’ through the contract.

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
