Abstract

Endoscopic washing and disinfection process must comply with the guidelines produced by the British Society for Gastroenterology, the British Thoracic Society, British Society of Echocardiography and comply with WHTM 01-06 Decontamination of Flexible Endoscopes Parts A-E. Any patient undergoing endoscopy may be infected with potentially transmissible infections such as HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, Salmonella or mycobacteria. The purpose of cleaning and disinfection therefore is to prevent the exposure of all individuals to potential pathogens. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have a requirement for maintenance services on 10 assets situated across Endoscopy, Urology and Surgery within the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. Please refer to Appendix 1 within the Specification for further information on each asset.

There are 8 Washer Disinfectors and 2 Drying cabients which require maintenance within the University Hospital of Wales. The contract will be held for 12 months and commence as soon as possible.
