Abstract

About Urdd Gobaith Cymru Founded in 1922, Urdd Gobaith Cymru is Wales’ largest national youth organisation. The experiences we offer children and young people through the Welsh language range from sporting opportunities to youth work, arts, residential, humanitarian, outdoor activities, international, apprenticeships, training and volunteering. We are a unique organisation where the Welsh language is central to our service, and which responds to the needs of children and young people today. We are recognized internationally as a leading example of successful youth provision through a minority language. (Please see our Corporate Strategy and latest Annual Report for further information). Project overview We are seeking a digital agency to design and develop a new bilingual website that reflects the Urdd’s dynamic, inclusive, and youth-focused identity. The new site will serve as the central hub for our online activity, replacing the current www.urdd.cymru website, which has reached end-of-life both technically and in terms of user experience. Aims of the new website Our aim is for a modern, bilingual, mobile-first website that reflects the Urdd’s identity as a dynamic, inclusive, youth-focused organisation. The purpose of the website will be to enable the Urdd to share information about us as an organisation, details about the work we do, in an attractive, clear, and accessible way. The website will enable users to access and engage with a wide range of information, content, activities, and resources. The website must reflect our commitment to digital inclusion and the Welsh language. Accessibility and bilingualism are not optional features - they are core to our identity. We anticipate working closely with the successful agency to agree on the final structure and design of the website. We will rely on the creativity and expertise of the successful agency to propose a vision for how best to present and structure the information relevant to the type of user visiting the website, in order to provide them with the best possible experience. It will be necessary to supply different messages and information for different target audiences.

Aims of the new website

Our aim is for a modern, bilingual, mobile-first website that reflects the Urdd’s identity as a dynamic, inclusive, youth-focused organisation.

The purpose of the website will be to enable the Urdd to share information about us as an organisation, details about the work we do, in an attractive, clear, and accessible way.
