II.1.4) Short description
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council has established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of a high quality and cost effective Education and Social Care Transport Service. The requirements covers bus, taxi, minibus and wheelchair accessible vehicles. The DPS is structured into the following 5 lots:
Lot 1: 4-8 seat vehicles
Lot 2: 9-16 seat vehicles
Lot 3: 17-49 seat vehicles
Lot 4: 50+ seat vehicles
Lot 5: Wheelchair accessible vehicles
The DPS commenced on 1st September 2016 and will run for an initial period of 5 years with an option to be extended for a further period of up to 24 months (reviewable on an annual basis and subject to performance).
NOTE 1: The authority is using eTenderWales to carry out further competitions under this DPS.
NOTE 2: Round 2 PQQ is active and will remain live and accessible to potential tenderers for the duration of the DPS. There is a separate Contract Notice covering Round 2 and the PQQ is available on eTenderWales and is open to all bidders.

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council administered this procurement opportunity electronically via the eTenderWales portal.
Round 1 of the DPS was under Contract Notice 2016-225415. Suppliers passing the PQQ were promoted onto the DPS Supplier Lists. The Supplier Lists were split into Lots covering the markets specialties e.g Lot 1: 4-8 Seat Vehicles, and so on.
Notice 2016-225415 also covers Mini Comps 1 and 3 (mini comp 2 not awarded). This Contract Award Notice therefore covers Contracts awarded under those two mini comps. There were 14 contracts awarded in total. Both awarded competitions were let under Lot 1 of the DPS. No other Lot was awarded as there were no requirements. The Contract Value stated in this Contract Award Notice is the total value of all 14 contracts.
Round 2 of the DPS and any subsequent mini competitions will be covered by and reported under Contract Notice 2016-305910
