Abstract

Newport City Homes requirement under this Contract is for the Removal of existing face fix cladding panels and replace with new including associated works to three Tower Blocks. Newport city Homes are proposing to remove the “Alcubond PE” 4mm thick cladding panels that have recently been installed to the three tower blocks owned and Managed by the Association. The panels are to be replaced with an ACM product which is of “limited combustibility” (as defined in the Approved Documents supporting part B of the Building regulations). It assumed that the remaining elements of the cladding system will remain in place, however it will be a requirement of the contractor to demonstrate that the remaining components are suitable for retention and use so that the complete cladding system and external wall construction complies with the particulars of the specification, the terms and conditions of contract, building Regulation requirements (Including Approved Document B and current Government guidance) and is appropriate for use on a high rise building.

2 Contract Details

2.2 Description of the goods or services required
