Provision of Funded Early Education Childcare in the Penycae area of Wrexham

Description of the goods or services required

Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is responsible for providing Non-Maintained, Funded Early Education within Wrexham.

Following a recent tender exercise, these services are now provided by means of a Childcare Framework. However, we have a gap in the provision of Funded Early Education in the Penycae area of Wrexham, which needs to be addressed, given that childcare funded via the Early Education budget ought to be available across the whole of the County Borough.

WCBC is therefore looking to appoint a provider in order to fill the gap in provision:

• Non-Maintained Funded Early Education – The aim of this service is to provide agreed statutory education provision for 3-year olds, in accordance with the Foundation Phase Revised Framework (2015) and Foundation Phase guidance, including high-quality play and learning opportunities for children in accordance with Foundation Phase Revised Framework (2015) for Learning and Curriculum for Wales.
