Abstract

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) invites you to submit a Tender for the Works Associated with the Construction of Pyle Community Recycling Centre. See brief overview below. a) The site is to be developed to offer easy access and multiple recyclate streams to maximise the council’s recycling performance. b) The site is clear and relatively level. The area was used as a yard area and has a stoned surface. The site benefits from a two storey office block with parking spaces separate from the yard area. c) The Community Recycling Centre will be split level with a ramp leading to an upper area where unloading of materials and waste will be easier to drop into skips and avoid loading difficulties up to the larger skips. Barriers will be installed to limit points of access. d) Access to the public area will be via the road running along the northern edge of the Community Recycling Centre, Sturmi Way. Traffic can approach the Community Recycling Centre from either the west or east and no modification to the existing highway is proposed. This section would be used for public access only and controlled by a meet and greet person to direct people through the Community Recycling Centre. An additional lane allows space for cars to easily reverse into space and also for the occasional trailer to be safely manoeuvred. Contract Terms and Conditions: NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (April 2013), Option B, with Bill of Quantities and as amended by the Schedule of Amendments. Please refer to the Tender Documents. Please refer to the Tender Documentation published on ETenderWales.
