Abstract

Overview: As part of the Transport for Wales Core Valley Lines Project - Package 6 Permanent Way, Balfour Beatty will be carrying out track improvements such as Plain line, S&C including track loops, track lowers, and line speed improvements. The track improvements will require experienced and qualified Exothermic welder, Burner and Grinding teams. Balfour Beatty is looking to setup framework agreements to support these works for the next 3-4 years. Programme: Works are due to start from February 2021 and will be ongoing for the next 3-4 years. Tender Documents: Suppliers requested to express an interest and shall be subject to meeting Balfour Beatty Rail’s pre-qualification criteria for this package of works. Documents shall be issued to those who qualify via Balfour Beatty’s Jaggaer portal. Access shall be supplied to those who qualify. Responses, including any tender queries, shall be via the Jaggaer portal only. Response shall be based on best value (technical and commercial) which shall include: > Question sets regarding capability & capacity. > Evidence of RISQS and constructionline registration. > Evidence of appropriate PTS and welding ticket qualifications. > Demonstration of Competency questionnaire. > Schedule of rates for weekday/weekend 1-2-man Exothermic welding and Burner teams. > Schedule of rates for weekday/weekend 1-2-man Grinding teams. > Rates for additional welds and specialist materials. >Costs per team must include travel, subsistence, labour, plant, tools, materials, cutting & preparing rails, measuring, and grinding to correct profile.
