Abstract

WAST is seeking to commission provider to work with us as we build on our existing online learning offer. We have six existing e-learning modules related to mental health and dementia (two of which are translated into Welsh) are seeking to develop a further two modules (with at least one of these translated into Welsh). These modules will support healthcare professionals to maintain their knowledge, skills and competence with the aim to ensure high quality evidence based care. WAST will provide internal subject matter experts who will work in partnership with the provider on the development of content. The e-learning modules will comprise: • Alcohol Brief Interventions for people working in emergency services – English only - will include 2 x 1 minute animations, any video content will be generated by the Trust, posted on youtube and embedded via links • Supporting better wellbeing in the WAST workforce – a learning resource for line managers – English and Welsh – no animations, any video content will be generated by the Trust, posted on youtube and embedded via links The e-learning resource would • Provide staff with the right skills to ensure high quality patient care and support to staff • Support a diverse workforce that can respond to the needs of patients. • Underpin existing knowledge and skills to practise safely • Improve staff morale and patient outcomes • Increase our educational offer to our staff to meet CPD and professional revalidation requirements. • Increase access to education and training due to social distancing requirements. • Reduce need for staff travel for face to face training, can be undertaken at home or workplace. • Provide additional education resource content to those provided on an All Wales basis in My Learning @ NHS Wales and the WAST Learning Zone
