VII.2) Information about modifications
VII.2.1) Description of the modifications
Upgrade of the original LearningSpace Enterprise system static cameras and microphones system, to the LearningSpace Ultraportable system, including mobile technology to capture mobile scenarios, run within ad-hoc locations (corridors, ambulances or within public settings).
Expansion of the upgraded LearningSpace provision to accommodate the new Pharmacy Skills suite, with capability to record visual and audio at six stations, to be used for formative and summative OSCE’s (objective structured clinical examination), consultations and live demonstrations
VII.2.2) Reasons for modification
Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire
Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
The original LearningSpace system was funded internally but upgrade costs were HEIW funded and expansion costs from the new Pharmacy degree. The College lacks funding for a new system set up with mobile capability and new degree capacity.Current LearningSpace system already embedded within the College infrastructure with staff trained with hands-on experience since 2019 purchase.A new system would need IT staff time resources on integration and compatibility with the current LearningSpace system with no guarantee of compatibility of two systems. To introduce a new system, unfamiliar to College staff and needing integration with University IT network, would delay and inconvenience new Pharmacy staff, with duplication of time and costs to train existing staff on new system, and new staff on both systems
VII.2.3) Increase in price
Updated total contract value before the modifications (taking into account possible earlier contract modifications and price adaptions and, in the case of Directive 2014/23/EU, average inflation in the Member State concerned)
